fire

it took me a while to learn

that my passion was not insanity,

that the fire deep in my belly

has the power to set me free

if i could just find the balance

to let it fuel me, not consume me

i could warm the world with just one touch

to feel the heat is a must

as well as the power to not combust

singing affirmations of trust

that i won’t self destruct
